My first ever Junk Yard Sale!!!

So FINALLY, a BRILLIANT excuse to clear out my wardrobe and all signs in my home of potential HOARDING tendencies >_< - a Junkyard sale for all PRE-LOVED items. More like TOO LOVED as I have not been able to part with them for the longest time and they have been gathering dust!

I will be saying goodbye to LOADS of favourites of mine that I've been hanging on to for far too long for reasons that may include :

1. I may need it again
2. It's too good to let go of
3. It may be collectible (maybe on my 100th Birthday)
4. It's part of an (imaginary) set
5. It will be an heirloom of mine
6. I want to pass it to my children IF I were to ever have any...
7. I will fit into that TINY size again ONE DAY (dream on...)

I think you get the idea.... Anything from shoes to bags to jeans to tees to tops to jackets, casual and formal-ish at MAD MAD prices! We may even have some brand new, unworn, "tag still on" items and don't worry if you havent got enough cash - we are as decent people as you are and will happily take a deposit on the day and hold the item for you til you are able to organise for the balance payment - just be sure to remember to exchange contact details so that we can stay in touch!

Of course there are a whole load of others vendors on the day including Fashion Bloggers and creatives selling new and home crafted quirky stuff, not just clothes - best time to get started with shopping for Christmas pressies and stocking fillers!!! Check the full list of vendors here

Music will be provided by the likes of Ruud of Deer Society as well as Nadia and I who will play for you for the first time ever as PopMuseSic - YUP! That's our tee shirt line and you will have the chance to pic up some of our tees as well as a limited number of Local Celebrity pieces at heavily reduced prices.

Oh and one more thing.... what's better than cocktails on a Saturday afternoon? The fact that you can beat the crowds by pre-ordering ur RM10 cocktails via Slosht.com - too efficient for words innit.

*REMINDER*
Don't forget to bring your environmentally re-usable bags to carry all that shopping!!!

A Big TQ to LeftBlock and Joyce too :)

See you on Saturday!!!!!

What a stretch!

So I started this week with a 'To Do' List that is as long as both my arms together (which incidentally from the tip of one middle finger to the other, would equal my height - go google it) and I feel like crap.

Why? Cos of last weekend at Singapore's F1 which was crazy, followed by a week of hectic work which ended up with 2 projects I've been working on for nearly a year actually being CONFIRMED *yeaaaaaahbaybehhhhh*

Rounded up with a 'farewell' Friday night out for two friends returning to China (who will probably be back in 6 weeks >_<) and a Saturday night of hopping.

First to see my fave Salah Wrong play at Daikan... errr Daikanay.... errrr that place on Changkat next to the Green Man. The girls put together a great playlist of 90s tunes - nostalgic to say the least - although I must admit that Clem and I did confess that we didn't recognise a few tunes. Nonetheless it didn't stop us from head-banging and jumping up and down like over grown teenagers. Having said that, quite a large percentage of the crowd looked like they had only just graduated from teenage-hood, so Joyce and I reckoned they were probably hearing these songs for the very first time!
Joyce & Sarah aka 'Salah Wrong'
After only one beverage I wished the girls farewell as they bopped their heads on the dance floor and battled the human and vehicular traffic outside making my way to 7ate9 where DJ Nadia holds her newly secured bi-monthly residency. She provided us with such a great sound track - housey, nu disco tunes with a classic and sophisticated vibe that you can jump up and down or simply sway your head to - whatever suits your fancy. This is a great venue for a Saturday night especially if you don't wanna be squashed into a club with sweaty, over enthusiastic peeps, but you also don't wanna be at a lifeless bar - A great in-betweener.

And to top the night off, DJ Nazkimo came along to show DJ Nadia and our brand some love as he came decked in his PopMuseSic 'Piano Keys' tee shirt

*Phew* What an insane but amazing 10 day run I've had. Great work, great news, great friends and so much love. Positivity all the way!

First Official DJ Gig this year!

Most of you who have been following my blog this year will know what a roller coaster ride I've been having juggling work and new opportunities that have come my way other than my normal 'music' work.

So making time to finish the album, whilst having international releases of my remixed material via Fierce Angel as well as managing production of my new tee line PopMuseSic with my buddy Nads, has meant there has been almost zero time to do any DJing whatsoever!!

So I am proud to share with you that my first DJ gig for 2011 is this Wednesday (11 May, 2011) and it's for none other than TopShop! It's a little preview party for TopShop's Fashion Forward Members only.

The only other way to get your hands on an invite or two is to hit up my two favourite Bloggers'sites - they are of course Kinky Blue Fairy & Strrapped

Get a move on then - I'm super excited to play again and share with you some of my favourite tracks so far for 2011.

See you on Wednesday - and if you've read this blog and you're attending the party - make sure you come up and say hi to me at some point during the evening as I may have something exclusive to give you! (perhaps not whilst I'm spinning :))

Going absolutely Dotty for KBF :)

Ok So I realise this post is a bit late but I have had THE maddest month of April with the last week of April being the most stressed ever!!

In fact I'm beginning to wonder if it is just me that seems to be having a whirlwind of a 2011 year so far.... it's been Go!Go!Go! since new year's Day - seriously. Juggling events, writing and recording the album, proposals, interior design business and PopMuseSic is NO walk in the park.

Fortunately the hours and days of work have been kindly peppered and marinated with quality chill and party sessions one special one of which was Joyce aka Kinky Blue Fairy's Birthday party suitably Dotty-themed. I cheekily asked if one dot would be enough as that would justify my costume by simply, well, turning up! (InDot... gedddit??)

My PopMuseSic partner in crime Nadia

Claudia (who's joint B'day party it was) and my fav Fairy :)
(Cup) Cake time - I am still wondering exactly what Claudia and Joyce are discussing

Is Joyce 'signing' In - Dot ?
Yes as you can see the 'spectacles' encouraged us all to make a SPECTACLE of ourselves :P
hehe : mole-y, mole-y, mole-y!

Thx to Joyce and Claudia for a brilliant night out! Happy Days :)

November 2010 Update Part 1 : Eric Kupper & PopMuseSic

So I know it's been awhile since I last blogged but I've been super busy prepping for recent gig with Eric Kupper and busy with developing two new business ventures.

First things first :

If you didn't come down to Marketplace last Friday for the Louis Roederer Champagne party you really missed out! Eric and I had a blast with all of you who did come... we premiered brand new Eric Kupper remixes of CHINA and THIS TIME. I'll post up some photos soon.

As for the other businesses I've been busy with, one is the tee shirt line / blog Pop.Muse.Sic.
Our first collection of limited edition Heart of GOLD Wildfox Tees are selling fast. If you haven't got your hands on one yet you better hurry! Check the online store here. They will make fab Christmas presents!

Juice Online gave us at PopMuseSic its first bit of media coverage which we are very excited about so a huge shout out goes to the Juice Team for their love and support :)

Saturday night saw the launch of Hanger magazine's A/W2010 edition held at a brand new venue called Hex at the PJ Trade Center.
With an uber cool and industrial decor, the party was absolutely pumping! Anyone who was anyone in the fashion and music scene, in fact anyone remotely creative, was seen there.

My favourite fairy blogger Joyce and the other third of LEFTBLOCK Michelle provided music for the earlier part of the evening and TWINKIES Arabyrd & T Nadia took over the decks with their distinct soundtrack of Bmore and bootlegs.

Both Arafah & Nadia were decked out in Wildfox tees available only through Pop.Muse.Sic. How can anyone resist them?

Leftblock x Nike Sports Wear S/S2010 22 April '10

" LEFTBLOCK started thanks to our love for fashion and the desire to spread individualistic style. Having always preferred unconventional fashion choices, LEFTBLOCK doesn't believe that styling yourself should cost a bomb "

Said succinctly by the LEFTBLOCK fashionista bloggers Joyce, Chelle & Jacinta

So when Nike Sportswear decided to collaborate with LEFTBLOCK for an event it was destined to be nothing shy of creative & entertaining!

In this brave new world of Twitter, the first thing I noticed was the large screen displaying tweets referring to the event - NARCISSISM at its best ;)

Me with EmCee for the event, LEFTBLOCK collaborator Joyce :)

The girls took key pieces from the SS2010 collection, added their own innovative 'LEFTBLOCK' touch and provided a very unconventional Fashion Show whereby they un-dressed and re-dressed items on alternating models to demonstrate multi-functionality & versatility of their Nike collaborative creations.
Then they called upon some audience participation! We, the guests, were separated into groups, provided a box of 'goodies'/accessories and encouraged to do a LEFTBLOCK with a given Nike sportswear. Each group had to nominate a model within their group who then had to work the catwalk with said creation!

The winner was judged by the audience applause and the winner was none other than DJ Nadia who I believe clinched her win by her most original catwalk end pose... a FREEZE!
Suffice to say DJ Nadia was the chosen model from the team I was in together with Arabyrd and Bum Squad DJs CEO Latin Prince hehehehe...

TWINKIES presents Cat Got Your Tongue with SalahWrong @ Palate Palette

To say that my first weekend of March was hectic, would be an understatement - the fact that it was rounded up by a manic collaboration was the "cherry on the cake"

What do you get when you stir together the following ingredients :

An infusion of Cat Got Your Tongue

stirred with

Lashings of SalahWrong (Sarah Chan & Joyce Wong aka KinkyBlueFairy )

and topped off with generous layers of

Twinkies .... ?

A EXPLOSIVELY COLOURFUL day !!

Lots of games, laughs, giggles, sniggers and toys! In fact, presentation of a toy at the bar meant a discount on your drink - Genius!

Sample toys..
Made some new friends, hung out with old ones and caught up with those that i rarely see, like the Bangsar Boy himself Niki Cheong who filled me in on his escapades including a recent trip to London for Project Alpha & the next Twestival ... I also got a chance to share with him my ideas for a charity event that I'm planning for the end of May : Get updates on it here

Me & Bangsar Boy

SalahWrong on the decks providing their unique classic emo, indie, retro, (good) cheesy playlist. They were using their brand spanking new Paul Frank headphones :)

KBF + Boogs = sillynessness

Getting creative with toy hairdryer *ahem*
The BBQ provided by Palate Palette is always yummy as more and more peeps started to stream in, I reckon CGYT revellers were calling their mates from home and around town to come by to check out the Twinkies event

Busy room! And yes that is Rudyculously u see there...

Lead singer Fuad from Kyoto Band, Lady Elephant (real ID unknown), KBF, Stylist Extraordinaire Ming

Tunku Nadia (one half of the Twinkies) spinning her *MAGIC*

As you can imagine i suffered terribly the next day and missed my early Monday morning run *ooops*

Even so, I can't wait for the next Twinkies event :)
