One of my favourites books is Betty DeGeneres' autobiography "Love, Ellen".
It's an intimate account of Ellen and her mum's journey to stardom and fame - of single-parenting, of "coming-out" but more so of an amazing mother and daughter bond and the gift of acceptance. I read it back in 2004. Am tempted to have a re-read for good measure - even if just to see how far my own life has come since then.
