Lady Gaga's latest music video for 'Alejandro'is yet another wild & whacky (if not potentially controversial) installment to her collection of what I like to term as commercial art-house mini movies.
The opening scene instantaneously gives me the feeling of a Nazi concentration camp, which is only strengthened by the appearance of what could easily be interpreted as the Star of David as well as several Catholic symbolism
You will see references to Madonna's music videos of the 90s from her massive compilation 'The Immaculate collection' -
Eg. The 'Vogue-esque' conical Jean-Paul Gaultier conical bra-tops (recently seen on Sue Sylvester of GLEE!)
2.
It is 6.30am and I am about to go on a run so excuse any 'extreme'-like opnions I may have of it at this time!
It is directed by Steven Klein, styled by Nicola Formichetti with fashion contributions (many of which custom-made for Gaga) from :
Emporio Armani, the late Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein, Christian Louboutin, Philip Treacy, Agent Povocateur, Dolce & Gabbana, Hussein Chalayan, Versace and Lady Gaga's own label Haus of Gaga.
*What's your verdict?*
