Party of 2010 to date : Launch of Musa KL with BryanBoy & Henry Holland

Yay! I got my pic with the top Malaysian make-up artist Alex Eu (who is not only a great friend but he also styled my first album sleeve) but fashion blogger Bryan Boy & Henry Holland himself

Alex, Moi, Bryan, Henry
Probably the best party to date for 2010 was the launch part for the Musa KL boutique in Avenue K.

Flowing drinks, a beautiful fashion show that was hosted by BryanBoy himself finished off by a superb after party with music provided by KL's own DJ Goldfish with Henry Holland spinning his selection of tunes, most of which took us back tot eh good ole 80s when leggings, bright & neon colours & shoulder pads were the 'in-thing', first time around.

Yeah Yeah I know this was awhile ago but I've been waiting on some answers to come back from the two jet-setting boys (Bryan & Henry), alas with no success, despite much help from Amri of Milk PR (who did a fab job at organising the event) and Naz (who is the stunning 'parent' to Musa KL)
Amri & I

Nazreem 'MusaKL'
The after party itself was a blast and a half and I woke up the next day with a pounding head-ache which I blamed entirely on the shortage of sleep I got as a result of the late night
*ahem*

Amri & his bevy of beauties
I am into my fashion but am cr@p with names - I simply buy stuff cos I like the look and feel and what I can tell you is that the Musa KL boutique has a lovely collection of clothes and accessories for both men & women that I have yet to see anywhere else in KL, particularly the whackiest sunglasses!!

Naz has also added a cafe to the boutique, which I hear, through the twitter grapevine, has an excellent menu. Apparently the nasi lemak & pulut are 'must trys'.

Another new eaterie to check out on my to do list!

Can you surrender to Happiness?

Today after my early morning run, I came home and started my usual routine of checking emails and facebook.

Within 2 minutes I discovered that friends of mine whom I thought were well on their way to joining the world of 'engaged-to-be-married' people, had in fact split up.

Moments later I read the news of another couple's engagement...

Yesterday Mum told me about a friend of the family, not far off my age, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. My brother spoke to her the day before yesterday to ask how everything was going, to which she responded :

"Not Good"

She passed away yesterday morning.

This is exactly what life is all about - unpredictability.

The sooner we come to terms with it , the better.

The things / people we hold closest to us can be gone within seconds - so we must remember to treasure each moment that we have. I try to see it as :

* GIVING IN TO HAPPINESS *

'cos by letting go of our fears, insecurities & all negative / pessimistic ideals, we inadvertently invite happiness into our hearts & minds

But it's easier said than done eh!

In the words of Aimee Mann, there is no time like the present to 'Wise Up' up folks - or at least TRY to :)

WISE UP
It's not.. what you thought...When you first... began it.
You got... what you want...Now you can hardly stand it.
Though, by now you know
It's not going to stop...It's not going to stop...It's not going to stop
Till you wise up.

You're sure... there's a cure...And you have finally found it.
You think... one drink...Will shrink you to...
Your underground and living down, but
It's not going to stop...It's not going to stop...It's not going to stop
Till you wise up.

Prepare a list for what you need,
Before you sign away the deed,

'Cause it's not going to stop...It's not going to stop...It's not going to stop
Till you wise up.
No, it's not going to stop
Till you wise up.
No, it's not going to stop
So just give up.

A Workout routine recommended to me by the Jakeman himself!

If you're into fitness and healthy living and you follow web blogs then following Hitz Big Wig (excuse the expression hehehe) Jakeman's blog is a MUST !

I tweeted him earlier this week if he could recommend a light work out for me - to maintain fitness and keep a toned body. The last thing I expected was a blog entry dedicated to me :)

I hope to make it to the gym and do my first trial run with the fitness Guru himself.

Other than that, the only thing left to do is to squeeze this routine into my current regime that already includes running and Pilates 3 times a week.

Check out the full post here

Thank you Abang Jake *hugs*

Adidas Street Party!

The Adidas Street Party just shy of 2 weeks ago was featured in yesterday's Star Metro and was given a great write up, making me feel even more proud to have been invited as a guest artist!

The stage set-up was blahdy cool
The event was hosted by my buddy Altimet, whom I also got to share the stage with as he worked his free-styling magic on my remix of Starlight which I performed that night.

THere were a lot of things to feast your eyes on including An eclectic mix of artists performed that night including Bittersweet, Altimet, Ze!, beatboxer Shawn Lee with a closing DJ set by DJs Blink & Goldfish that left us all wanting more.

GIANT Adidas Shoe Box appears on stage revealing...

DJs Blink & Goldfish !

There were a lot of things to feast your eyes on including some serious skills on Fixie bikes, Star Wars Troopers and street dancers / B-boys (and cute up-and-coming B-boy kiddies) and of course a fashion show

Got to hang out with Elaine Daly & Stephanie Chai

and Miranda & Kevin from Juice :)

Apart from the kerayzee kicks Adidas very kindly gave me, we also got given some wicked Star Wars inspired Adidas stickers - check it

Forever gone, but never forgotten

Everyday when Jeremy comes home from school, he comes down to the studio to give me a hug and kiss hello and then proceeds to say hello to Mia...

Today, after his usual routine and not long after I told him it would have been Mia's Birthday, he returned and quietly slipped a little note by where Mia lives on on mantel, and scurried off.

*speechless*

Happy 12th Birthday Mia

We Miss You

Today is what would have been Mia's 12th Birthday... A Taurus-Tiger like her Mummy :)

Happy Birthday to me! Universal Studios & 4 cakes!

My Singapore homies ( Girl no.6 taking the pic!)

So it was my birthday last week.... Spent the weekend in Singapore, ate LOADS, went to an art exhibition, visited Universal Studios, had loads of fun with great friends, spent special family time on my return and had loads of cake...

Make that 5 cakes as you will soon see

YES it's strange that my birthday celebrations always seem to last a week *coughs*. Here it all is in pix

Whilst strolling around Ion on Orchard, we wandered into a gallery featuring art pieces from China. And yes, as there was no signage, I did take the liberty of snapping some shots until I got the back of my hands slapped *naughty girl*.

Cool art though
